Permanent Press GUI Interface
Permanent Press features five different tabbed sections of the GUI interface to create and fine tune the plug-in effects.
A: Ink Plate Navigation
The Ink Plate drop down menu at the very top of the GUI is located in the same position on every tabbed section of the GUI and will become the primary method to toggle between each Ink Plate you'd like to work with.
B: Tabbed Sections
All Permanent Press filter controls are grouped on tabs according to their function. Click on a tab name to switch to that related subset of controls. Each tabbed section correlates to an actual printing effect making them easy to learn quickly.
C: Controls
Sliders, color swatches, check boxes, and radio buttons appear along the left side of the GUI window in their respective tabbed section. All related controls are grouped into specific dialog boxes in each section.
C: User Settings
The User Settings dialog allows you to create and save or apply previously used settings to the image you're working with. Permanent Press ships with over thirty amazing settings that show the range of the filters effects.
E: Zoom and Magnification Indicator
Click the magnifying glass icons to Zoom in or Zoom out respective to its icon. The current level of magnification is shown between these icons.
F: OK and Cancel Buttons
Once you're satisfied with the Permanent Press effect you've created, click the OK button to apply the Permanent Press effect to your image. Clicking the Cancel button closes the filter window without applying the effect.
G: Render Status Bar
The rectangle just below the Preview Window is the Render Status bar. As an effect is being rendered in the preview, this rectangle displays the amount of rendering that has been completed.
H: Preview Window
As you work with the filter controls, you can preview the effect on your image here.
I: About and Help Dialogs
If you want to check for the latest version of the plug-in, textures, or presets, simply click on the Permanent Press title at the top of the GUI to launch the About dialog where you'll see the Get Updates and Tutorials buttons which link to their respective locations via a web browser where they can be easily downloaded and installed.
